Our President

 

​For the past 30 years, Prof. Dan Asera has lectured in Corporate Finance, Accounting and Mathematics with most recent teaching appointments at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas and the University of Nevada, Reno, while maintaining his consulting practice in commercial real estate finance for over two decades.

Prior to teaching, he worked 10 years in San Francisco as a Vice President - Commercial Loans at Security Pacific National Bank and The Bank of California. During this time, he served a 4-year term appointed by Gov. Jerry Brown as a Board Member of the State Board of Accountancy of California. He is currently Professor-in-Residence at UNLV and was selected a UNLV Teaching & Learning Center Fellow, a Faculty Partner for Cengage Higher Education and an ICTCM Pearson Fellow for Pearson Higher Education.



In the community, he is the President & Founder of the UC Berkeley Alumni Chapter of Las Vegas and the Berkeley-Haas Las Vegas Chapter. In 2007 he was appointed a Clark County Hearing Officer for property tax appeals by the Clark County Board of Commissioners. At UNLV, he has served as founding Faculty Adviser to UNLV Men's Ice Hockey and serves as a Student Conduct Hearing Officer and on several University committees.



His professional affiliations include membership in: Nevada Faculty Alliance of the American Association of University Professors; American Institute of Certified Public Accountants; Western Finance Association; Berkeley Faculty Club; International Council of Shopping Centers; and is a Golden Bear Life Member of the Cal Alumni Association of UC Berkeley.
